Holidaymakers
flying to Boston this winter will be able to experience a European yuletide when the Swedish Christmas Fair visits the city on December 9th.
This fair is typically a popular one, attracting thousands of visitors each year with its lavish exhibits, arts, crafts, foods, music and dancing.
With the celebrations sticking to a traditional theme, it is perhaps no surprise that the fair also includes a visit from St Lucia, the Scandinavian queen of light, who is honoured in her home countries with processions not dissimilar to that at this
Boston event.
Parents can also keep their children entertained with an array of special activities including decoration-making, drawing and hunting for presents in the Fishing Pond.
Visitors to
Boston can also take the opportunity to do some sightseeing and marvel at the city's spectacular 46 ft Christmas tree, which is donated to the city by the people of Nova Scotia every year in thanks for its assistance after the 1917 Halifax Explosion.

Swedish Christmas Fair website.
