A new poll has revealed that American travellers are increasingly feeling safer when flying to destinations.
About 43 per cent of
US travellers say they think air travel is "very safe", according to the poll by AP/AOL Travel.
This is a higher figure than those found in other travel polls since the events of 9/11, the organisation says.
In addition, a number of Americans are taking a positive approach to future air travel, with 61 per cent of poll respondents saying they use the internet to research travel destinations and 44 per cent planning to go on holiday in the next 12 months.
Popular destinations for American holidaymakers include the beach, mountainous regions, major cities and theme parks, with a significant proportion planning to fly abroad.
The transportation safety administration in
the US recently decided to change the restrictions concerning gel and liquids in hand luggage aboard flights, allowing them them to be carried if they are bought from secure stores in airports.
