Holidaymakers travelling to
San Francisco early next year should make sure they have steady sea legs for the city's annual Ocean Film Festival at Fort Mason Center's Cowell Theater.
Now in its third year, this successful festival celebrates all things wild and watery with a series of films, documentaries, presentations and more on every aspect of the sea between January 19th and 21st.
Typical film topics include oceanography, watersports, underwater ecosystems, coastal culture and more, with a number of experts voicing their opinions on all of these subjects.
The aim of the festival is to raise awareness of the important of the ocean as a hotbed of various forms of life and is the only such festival of its kind in the US.
However, those travellers to
San Francisco who thoroughly enjoy this festival can experience it again from a European perspective by visiting the partner event in Toulon,
France later in the year.
For more information, see the
San Francisco Ocean Film Festival website.
