Skiers urged to check travel insurance
Holidaymakers planning to take a ski break this winter are being advised to ensure they have adequate travel insurance to cover all eventualities.
Over 374,000 tourists could be set to travel abroad without the right level of insurance cover, according to AA Travel Insurance.
This may be because they do not check the terms and conditions of their policies and fail to inform their insurer of pre-existing medical conditions, the firm warns.
"Customers often simply tick a box without properly understanding what they are paying for, because important terms and conditions are not drawn to their attention," comments Clare Emsley, head of AA Travel Insurance.
She adds that it is "vital" travellers make sure they are protected against all possible incidents in case of a skiing accident.
Earlier this month, insurance provider esure advised parents planning on taking a trip this half-term to check their holiday insurance covers the family both in the UK and abroad.
