Cathay Pacific has announced that it is making changes to ensure that passengers can make quicker connections with Dragonair flights.
From October 29th, the airline will be making available over 451 connections a week with a minimum connecting time (MCT) of 50 minutes.
This has been reduced from the carrier's previous connecting time of one hour.
Dragonair became a subsidiary of
Cathay Pacific last month and specialises in routes to
China.
"One of the key aims of the Dragonair integration is to create synergies between the two carriers that will benefit passengers and the Hong Kong hub in general," commented Augustus Tang, corporate development director for Cathay Pacific.
"The reduction of MCTs from the winter schedule will reduce the time passengers have to spend in transit and at the same time open up a greater number of connections between Cathay Pacific and Dragonair."
Last month,
Cathay Pacific announced that it would be resuming
flights to Shanghai from December 2006.
