Now that the winter cold is beginning to set in, try
flying to the Caribbean this yuletide for the Junkanoo parades in Nassau, the Bahamas.
This event is one of the biggest of its kind to be held in the Bahamas and sees crowds of revellers take to the streets on December 26th and January 1st for two massive parades.
Extravagantly costumed dancers, decorated floats, street performers and more make up the bulk of these parades, which typically take place between 02:00 and 09:00 local time.
Musicians soundtrack the parades with goatskin drums, cowbells, horns and brass instruments as performers compete to be the best of the festival.
With temperatures typically clocking in between the 65 and 75 degrees F, visitors to
the Caribbean can enjoy a generous serving of winter sun while soaking up the culture at this popular event.

official Junkanoo website.
