Holidaymakers looking to experience traditional Ireland could do worse than take a
flight to Dublin for the 2007 Temple Bar Trad, Irish Music & Culture Festival.
Taking place between Thursday, January 25th and Sunday, January 28th, visitors to the Irish capital can take in performances from names such as Lunasa and Dervish, as well as traditional fare like Peter Horan, Martin Quinn and Angela Carberry.
Furthermore, those who do opt to hop over the Irish Sea on a
flight to Dublin can engage in banjo, flute, fiddle and accordion workshops, as well as a series of family-orientated events.
Martin Harte, general manager of Traders in the Area Supporting the Cultural Quarter, remarked: "All of our festival events sold out in 2006 attracting an audience of over 20,000, some of which travelled from the UK, mainland Europe, North America, Australia, New Zealand and Japan."
He added that the Temple Bar Trad, Irish Music & Culture Festival has the potential to draw large numbers of visitors to
Dublin during the "quietest" month of the tourism year.
The Temple Bar area has undergone a "massive" redevelopment project since 1991 to turn the area into Dublin's cultural quarter, according to the Temple Bar Events website.
