Barcelona comes top of the list for British parents when considering a short family holiday, according to new research.
Nearly a quarter of parents cited
Barcelona as their favourite short break city, the study by Takethefamily.com revealed.
The Spanish hotspot was followed by London,
Dublin,
Rome,
Paris and
Amsterdam as ideal places for a quick family getaway.
"It seems that parents and kids simply couldn't get enough of Barcelona. It is a wonderful family destination," commented Lucy Ace, managing director of Takethefamily.com.
"And like all the cities listed in our poll, it is in easy reach with more and more good value flights available," she added.
Earlier this month, holiday rentals firm Holidaylettings.co.uk predicted that more people will turn to breaks in culture-rich Spanish cities in search of a more fulfilling holiday.
This followed a survey by the website that revealed nearly a third of online queries about holiday homes in the last 12 months related to those in inland Spain.
