Top ski breaks revealed

Britons looking to go on a skiing break this winter could try one of the top ten getaways for the season in a list compiled by AITO Specialist Travel Agents.

The organisation revealed some of the best places to visit over the new year period, with the famous Whistler resort in Canada coming top of the list.

Further down the list, popular destinations such as Val d'Isere in France for those unafraid of heights and family-friendly Saas Fee in Switzerland also featured.

Resorts in Italy, Austria and Bulgaria also received recommendations for some of the best skiing and wintersports this year.

"The ski season is now in full swing and the slopes are in perfect condition," commented Barry Moxley, chairman of AITO.

Skiers wanting to take advantage of the currently cheap dollar could take an affordable break in the US, after it was reported that many Britons will head to New York for low cost Christmas shopping following the pound's value nearing the $2 mark.
