Holidaymakers planning to
fly to Bulgaria next spring could check out the Sofia International Film Festival between March 1st and 11th.
The festival displays numerous works of film from local, regional and international filmmakers at cinemas throughout
Sofia, and aims to promote features that are both "significant and innovative".
With plenty of categories to choose from, audiences will be able to experience films in a number of different genres from the Balkans and beyond.
As well as focusing on works from
Bulgaria, there will also be sections for the rest of Europe and the world, together with categories for short films, documentaries, and retrospectives and tributes.
Visitors to
Bulgaria should also take the opportunity to explore the rest of Sofia between showings; as one of the oldest cities in Europe, it boasts a plethora of historical sights and attractions.
For more information, see the
Sofia International Film Festival website.
