Fashion fans looking for something a bit different to add to their wardrobes should try
flying to San Francisco for the Vintage Fashion Expo on March 17th and 18th.
Taking place at the Nob Hill Masonic Center, this event showcases the pick of fashions from every decade since 1850 and allows savvy shoppers to purchase the best finds.
Clothes ranges include the sensible garments of the Victorian age, the more flamboyant styles of the 1920s and the all-out colour of the 1960s and 1970s from both Europe and the US.
Between 75 and 100 dealers sell their wares at the show every year, and also offer jewellery, textiles and accessories from years gone by.
Top names such as Chanel, Dior and Bonnie Cashin regularly appear on the clothes racks, mingling with lesser-known brands and items which appear to carry no brand at all.
The expo proves to be extremely popular with each occasion and is expected to be particularly tempting for many fashion-conscious travellers to
San Francisco next year - especially as vintage clothing is once again all the rage.
