American Airlines has announced that it is to begin non-stop flights between
Chicago and
Shannon,
Ireland on May 1st 2007.
The daily flights will be operated by 188-seat Boeing 757 aircraft and come after the carrier launched services between Chicago and
Dublin in May this year.
"We are excited about being able to offer two flights to Ireland this coming summer," commented Thomas Aichele, managing director of passenger sales in Chicago for
American Airlines.
"Ireland is an extremely popular destination and our 'Gateway to the World' hub at O'Hare offers easy and convenient travel for both local and connecting passengers who want to leave their homes one day and be on the Emerald Isle by the next morning."
The airline also announced this week that it is to begin operating a new flight between
Austin, Texas and
Seattle from April 10th 2007 with the 136-seat MD80 aircraft.
