The biggest festival in Ireland takes place in
Dublin every March to celebrate the life of St Patrick.
Although St Patrick's Day falls on March 17th, the capital city marks the occasion with a week of events, parades, parties and booze under the banner of St Patrick's Festival between the 15th and 19th.
More than one million people flood the streets of
Dublin for the Opening Night Spectacle, the Festival Parade and the largest outdoor Irish music event in the world in the form of the Ceili Mor on the 17th.
Families tend to particularly enjoy the Big Day Out on March 19th, where revellers flock to Merrion Square in the Georgian part of the city to see a variety of street performances and exhibitions.
Visitors to the city can expect to take part in one of the biggest parties in Europe during the St Patrick's Day celebrations and should not pass up the chance to see
Dublin at its liveliest.

St Patrick's Festival website.
