Travellers planning to catch a
flight to Rome next spring might want to make sure their trip coincides with the Rome Independent Film Festival.
Otherwise known as RIFF, this event sees films from more than 70 countries shown at top cinematic venues across
Rome between March 16th and 23rd.
The festival covers work from all of the major categories, including feature films, documentaries, short films, student films and animation.
It also bestows awards on the best of each category, with previous years' special prizes going to the likes of Harvey Keitel, Amos Gitai, Pete Travis and Valeria Golino.
Outside of the film showings themselves, visitors to
Rome can also attend a series of seminars, workshops and other special events.
RIFF also specialises in promoting the talents of independent filmmakers from
Italy through presentations at other international festivals, including those in
Syracuse and
Istanbul.

official RIFF website.
