Want to see one of North America's best events? Catch a
flight to Florida and discover the 69th Edison Festival of Light.
Held between January 27th and February 18th, this event in Fort Myers celebrates the life and achievements of inventor Thomas Edison, who lived between 1847 and 1931.
Edison contributed towards research on innovations such as the telephone and electrical lighting, among other items.
This festival hosts a number of contests, fairs and family events, including science competitions for school students and a day of games and exhibitions in Centennial Park.
One of the main highlights of this Florida festival is the Edison Light Up the Town Celebrations on February 9th and 10th, a two-day party filled with musical performances and plenty of food and drink.
With further celebrations including a fun run and the unique Crafts On The River event, travellers to
Florida will find much to entertain them at this acclaimed festival.
