Racing lovers wanting the perfect break abroad should
fly to Dubai for what is known as the most lucrative horse race on earth.
The Dubai World Cup at the Nad Al Sheba Racecourse on March 31st sees top jockeys fight it out for a grand prize of $3.6 million.
About $2.4 million of other prize money is also up for grabs – making this 2,000-metre race one of the most watched in the world.
However, spectators flock to
Dubai for more than just the racing, with other events including the Burjuman Style Stakes, where race-goers are awarded prizes for how well-dressed they are.
The city is also a haven for general tourists, meaning that those not so enamoured with watching horses run around a big field can slip away to see the exciting sights of one of the world's most popular holiday spots.
For more information, take a look at the
Dubai World Cup website.
