London City Airport has been voted the best in the UK by readers of travel magazine Wanderlust.
The hub beat off competition from the likes of Inverness Airport and Southampton Airport to scoop the top award.
Heathrow and Gatwick both featured lower down in the voting results.
"We are thrilled and honoured to receive such recognition for the second year running from the travel consumer," commented Charles Buchanan, business development director for London City Airport.
The airport currently serves as a base for a number of short and long-haul flights to over 30 destinations across the globe.
Last year, it launched services to
Copenhagen,
Milan,
Madrid,
Hamburg, Nuremberg and
Groningen, and intends to begin further
flights to Genoa and
Turin later in the year.
In January, a new service between London City Airport and
Rome began to be operated by Air One, the first Italian privately-owned airline.
