A new survey has revealed that about half of all Britons prefer to celebrate a weekend Valentine's Day with a romantic trip overseas.
The poll by Worldhotels revealed that 52 per cent of males would like to jet off abroad for February 14th if it happens to fall on a weekend, with 48 per cent of all females expressing the same sentiment.
A further 30 per cent of males and 22 per cent of females said they would travel to another country anyway if Valentine's Day fell during the week, as it will this month.
The survey also found that three-quarters of all travellers make a point of celebrating Valentine's Day.
Earlier this month, a poll by American Express Insurance Services indicated that
Venice,
Paris and
Rome are the most popular destinations for those wishing to go on a romantic getaway for Valentine's Day.
