This summer
Berlin is set to host the Museumsinsel - a festival which features a range of music, film and theatre.
Taking place between May and September, the annual event attracts some of the biggest names in music, with previous acts including Dido, Simply Red and Alanis Morissette, reports events service whatsonwhen.
However, although the entertainment itself will be enough to keep anyone entertained - the festival's location is worth a visit in its own right.
Classed as a Unesco world heritage site, Museumsinsel - or Museum Island - consists of five museums each one designed specifically for the kind of art it holds.
Unesco itself describes the collection of museums as a "social phenomenon", which is a "realisation of a visionary project".
Those looking grab a flight to
Berlin could well enjoy an afternoon wandering around one or all five of these cultural jewels.
