London City Airport has resumed normal operations following an incident that closed its runway.
Yesterday, an
Air France 146 jet flying from
Paris burst a tyre while landing on the runway at the airport at around 08:35 GMT, leading to its closure for most of the day.
The pilot announced to passengers there had been a problem with the landing brakes, as well as with a flat tire, according to a Bloomberg reporter who was onboard at the time.
As a result, outgoing flights were cancelled and incoming flights were diverted or also cancelled until the plane was moved in the early evening.
"The disabled aircraft involved in the incident this morning was recovered and removed from the runway,' the airport said in its statement yesterday.
Passengers wanting more information on specific flights have been advised to check with the relevant airline.
An inquiry has been launched into the original incident.
