Holidaymakers heading to
Boston for a city break this spring might want to check out the biggest gay pride event in New England while they're there.
Boston Pride takes place over the first ten days of June and sees more than half a million people flock to the city for a series of performances, parties and a massive parade.
The event kicks off on June 1st with a flag-raising at City Hall Plaza, while visitors to
Boston will find much to entertain them at the Pride Festival at the same venue on June 9th.
Other highlights include the Pride Idol finals, a number of street parties and the Aids Walk Boston.
Boston Pride culminates in a huge, colourful parade on June 9th, which traverses the streets of
Boston from noon. Last year, more than 6,000 marchers took part in the parade, with 100,000 spectators watching from the sides.

Boston Pride website.
