Continental Airlines has been voted as the best airline in Fortune Magazine's Most Admired Global Companies list.
The rating represents the fourth year that the carrier has grabbed pole position in the list, with the airline also ranking first in the magazine's America's Most Admired list of airlines earlier this month.
Factors such as staff management, environmental responsibility, innovation, financial strength and service quality were taken into account for the rating.
"My co-workers around the world work hard every day to deliver an outstanding product and I'm proud that their efforts have been recognised," commented Larry Kellner, chairman and chief executive of Continental Airlines.
Other airlines in the list included
Singapore Airlines, Lufthansa,
British Airways, Air France and Japan Airlines.
Last month, Continental Airlines was voted best airline in a readers' poll by Latin Trade magazine, which sought to discover the best carrier as voted for by business travellers.
