Fancy checking out the oldest wrestling tournament in the world this summer?
Fly to Turkey and you could find yourself doing just that at the Kirkpinar Oil Wrestling Festival in Edirne.
Millions of people from across the globe flock to
Turkey for the tournament, which was first founded in 1357.
Taking place during the second week in June, this unique event sees huge wrestlers in leather trousers cover themselves in olive oil and attempt to throw their opponent to the ground in a series of matches.
The oil obviously makes the wrestling a highly amusing and drawn-out spectacle, with tournaments generally lasting for several days.
Nowadays the festival also includes a number of side events and attractions, including a gypsy fair and numerous folk dance performances by specialist groups.
Edirne also offers a wealth of things to see and do when the festival finishes - it has been the location of many a battle and siege since ancient times and provides plenty in the way of interesting architecture and other historical sights.

Kirkpinar website.
