Continental Airlines has announced that it is to increase the number of flights between Scotland and
New York this summer.
The airline said that passengers will benefit from a total of two services a day from
Edinburgh, while those travelling from
Glasgow can choose from 11 weekly flights - up from seven a week.
Bob Schumacher, UK and Ireland senior director for
Continental Airlines, said that the carrier is "delighted" to expand its Scottish schedule.
"The additional services will make it more convenient than ever for the Scottish business and leisure traveller to access not only New York, but the whole of America from both Edinburgh and Glasgow," he added.
Last week, the airline announced that it aims to operate new flights from
Heathrow Airport to
Houston by next summer as a result of the recent EU backing of the transatlantic open skies agreement.
