Middle Eastern airline
Etihad has announced an increase in the number of services between
Heathrow Airport and
Abu Dhabi from today.
Flights between the two points now take off 14 times a week, compared with 12 times a week previously.
The route is being flown by Airbus A330-200 and A340-500 aircraft, with a capacity of 240 passengers for each flight.
From Abu Dhabi, travellers can take connecting services to destinations such as
Bangkok,
Kuala Lumpur and
Sydney.
"This move reaffirms Etihad's commitment to develop its operation from London Heathrow, as well as continuing to offer UK-based customers easy access to key international trading hubs in the Middle East and beyond via Abu Dhabi," commented Peter Dunkin, general manager for UK and Ireland at
Etihad.
Last week, the carrier announced plans to increase services from Abu Dhabi to two locations in
India:
Trivandrum and
Cochin.
