Holidaymakers heading to
Stockholm this summer should make sure they pencil in a guided cruise around the city's stunning archipelago.
The collection of tiny islands floating off the Swedish coast is one of the most famous archipelagos in the world, attracting thousands of sightseers every year.
Visitors to
Stockholm can take a day-long guided tour of some of the 24,000 islands via the Thousand Island Cruise, or pack it all into a mini-tour lasting about two and a half hours.
The full tour stops at Kymmendo, Bullero and Sandhamn, all of which have been frequented by writers, painters and boatloads of sailors over the years.
In addition, Bullero is a nature reserve and provides a scene of unparalleled beauty to gaze upon, while Kymmendo was once home to Swedish writer August Stindbergs.
As well as getting a good look at the islands themselves, the cruise offers spectacular views of Stockholm from the water, providing the perfect photo opportunity.

Thousand Island Cruise website.
