Virgin Atlantic has announced the formation of an alliance with Japan-based
All Nippon Airways (ANA) to offer combination fares to passengers travelling between
Heathrow and
Tokyo.
The agreement begins on April 1st and includes all classes of travel, allowing passengers of both airlines to choose from a larger range of flight options.
In addition, the two carriers are set to finalise an e-ticketing agreement that will enable travellers to combine Virgin Atlantic and ANA flights in one e-ticket.
"We are delighted to be signing an alliance agreement with ANA which will enable both carriers to start working closer together in many areas of the business, including airport and inflight services, and hope that this will pave the way to a possible codeshare agreement in the future," commented Willy Boulter, group commercial director for Virgin Atlantic.
Virgin Atlantic will soon operate from a dedicated terminal within Heathrow's Terminal 3 as part of BAA's redevelopment of the airport, reports UK-airport-news.info.
