Airline
bmi has announced plans to launch services to
Lyon from
Manchester later this year.
The carrier said that it will begin the non-stop flights on May 25th through its bmi regional subsidiary, using Embraer jet aircraft.
Passengers will be able to choose from daily flights to the French city and purchase either
economy or business class tickets for the journey.
"We are delighted to be flying to Lyon from this spring. I am sure that Manchester travellers will be relieved that they can still travel direct to this marvellous French city," commented Stewart Adams, managing director of bmi regional.
The announcement comes a month after
bmi announced that it is to begin direct flights between
Leeds-Bradford Airport and Lille in
France from April 23rd.
It already flies to two other destinations in the country -
Nice and
Paris - from
Heathrow Airport.
