An extension to Stansted Airport's security search area has been finished in time for the Easter holidays.
The £2 million extension has resulted in more security x-ray machines becoming available, as well as more metal detectors, security lanes and entry points.
"Since August 10th last year, when security measures at all UK airports were greatly increased, we have worked extremely hard to ensure our passengers experience a trouble-free journey through the terminal," commented
Stansted Airport customer services director Mark Murphy.
Despite this, passengers should make sure they are as prepared as possible for the busy holiday period ahead by ensuring they know all the rules for what they can and cannot carry onto aircraft, he added.
Earlier this month, officials at the airport reminded passengers of luggage restrictions and requirements after a woman attempted to carry two chameleons in her pockets onto a plane at the hub.
