A new survey has revealed that
British Airways is the best airline for families travelling with young children.
The research from airport services provider Airport Parking and Hotels (APH) indicated that the carrier comes first for its family check-in facilities, inflight entertainment for children and carrycot allowances.
Families can also get priority boarding privileges and additional activities for children onboard British Airways' flights.
Other airlines investigated included
Virgin Atlantic and
bmi, with the research finding that budget airlines do not offer services that are as family-friendly as those provided by traditional carriers.
"It is important for today's independent travellers, especially in family groups, to know what's included and what's not," commented Nick Caunter, managing director of APH.
Last month, a survey by the American Society of Travel Agents found that
Heathrow Airport is viewed as the most accommodating non-US hub in the world for families and children.
