Travellers flying in and out of
France today are likely to experience a significant level of disruption as a result of an air strike, the country's civil aviation authority DCAG has said.
A strike by air traffic controllers in
Paris is already causing changes to schedules, with airlines such as
Air France cancelling some services to and from the city.
Paris' Orly Airport is the main hub to be affected by the strike, while Charles de Gaulle Airport is expected see disruption to a lesser degree, with long-haul Air France flights in and out of the airport currently operating as normal.
British Airways has issued a statement on its website saying that it is planning to operate its French flights as normal, but that passengers should check with the airline before departing in case schedule changes have to be made.
The strike is taking place as a protest against possible air traffic control mergers in the Paris area.
