A day in the life of a Reykjavik Viking

A day in the life of a Reykjavik Viking
Holidaymakers looking for a more unusual break than the standard sand and sea holidays should head to Reykjavik for the annual Viking Festival.

This popular event sees all things Viking-related celebrated by both travellers and locals over three days every June at the purpose-built Viking Village near the city.

Visitors to Reykjavik will be able to buy traditional Viking items such as arts and crafts at a number of markets, as well as witness a battle demonstration and hear a tale from Viking storytellers.

There will also be live music and a mammoth Viking feast packed with edible goodies and jugs of traditional beverages.

The festivities will also spill over into two Viking markets in Sauoarkrokur and Hafnarfjorour over the course of the weekend.

Whether you have Viking blood running through your veins or not this festival is sure to offer a holiday with a difference for all travelling to Reykjavik.

For more information, take a look at the Viking Village website.
