British Airways has launched the newest version of its Club World cabin on certain flights between
Heathrow and
New York.
The newly redecorated cabin is now available on 96 services a week between the two destinations and offers bigger business-class beds and revamped inflight entertainment systems.
There are 70 beds available in each Boeing 747 Club World cabin, each of which are 25 per cent wider than previously and can manoeuvre into a z-shaped position which the airline says is ideal for watching films.
Passengers can also pause, stop and skip backwards and forwards through a wide range of films and television programmes using ten-inch digital screens.
"Research has shown us that our business customers want a home away from home with all of the comfort, privacy and flexibility that one would expect from a plush five-star hotel. We are absolutely thrilled with the new improvements," commented Robert Boyle, commercial director for
British Airways.
The £100 million programme was unveiled late last year and is set to be rolled out across all of the airline's
long-haul fleet.
