British travellers will try almost anything to get into a top airport lounge or nab an upgrade to first-class, according to one expert.
Speaking to the Evening Express, a spokesman for
Aberdeen Airport said that he has seen cheeky couples attempt to gain access to executive lounges by pretending they are on their honeymoon.
Others try to flirt with airport staff to grab extra air perks, while some have tried to blag their way into business class by pretending to be recently bereaved, he added.
"People try their luck all the time; the leisure travellers are the worst. But we've heard it all before and are not so easily fooled," he remarked.
Earlier this month, research from American Express Platinum suggested that rising numbers of travellers are looking to take advantage of extra services such as VIP lounges, flight upgrades and tailored travel services.
