Virgin Atlantic has announced the launch of its second daily air service to
Washington this week.
The new flights will operate until October 27th and complements another service from
Heathrow to Washington Dulles International Airport that was initially launched 11 years ago.
Some of the main attractions in Washington for visitors include the White House, a number of historic buildings and a wide array of cultural institutions such as museums and galleries.
According to the airline, the extra Washington flights offer new options to travellers looking to take advantage of the current strength of the pound compared with the US dollar.
"This new service gives Virgin Atlantic passengers the best possible schedule. They can choose the existing morning departure from Heathrow to Washington, or wait until the late afternoon to leave London after a day's work," commented
Virgin Atlantic chief executive Steve Ridgway.
Earlier this week, the carrier launched a new daily service to
Chicago, its tenth
US destination to date.
