British Airways (BA) has announced that it has introduced online boarding passes for passengers travelling on its services between London
Heathrow and a number of destinations in the Middle East.
The new system enables people to print their passes from their home, office or hotels before arriving at the airport.
Those carrying only hand baggage can then go directly to the security area, rather than having to go through the usual check-in procedures.
Commenting on the initiative, Amanda Ball, service delivery manager for the firm, said: "Our customers are always at the core of our innovation and developments, and with the launch of the online boarding pass across selected routes, we are making travelling from the region even easier."
The passes will be available to passengers travelling to Heathrow from Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, Muscat and Abu Dhabi.
In related news, BA announced earlier this month that it had signed a new contract with Rolls-Royce Trent to supply engines for its new Boeing 777-200ER aircraft.
