BAA: European scheduled traffic grows
The number of passengers taking scheduled flights from BAA's UK airports grew by 0.1 per cent in April, according to new figures.
BAA also said that other long-haul traffic rose by 1.1 per cent last month, with the overall number of air transport movements up by 1.6 per cent.
The operator's Scottish airports in particular saw significant growth, with passenger traffic at Aberdeen and Edinburgh up by 8.2 per cent and 3.6 per cent respectively.
About 12.2 million passengers passed through the gates of BAA's UK airports in total during the month, down 1.6 per cent compared with the same period last year.
In a separate announcement, BAA has today said that it has formed an agreement regarding the sale of Budapest Airport to consortium Airport Holding for £1.3 billion.
The airport was acquired by BAA in December 2005 and is being sold at the wish of the operator's new owners.
