Heathrow Airport has launched a new website to help local residents monitor aircraft noise and to improve the performance of its systems.
The WebTrak service allows locals to access information about aeroplanes using the airport, such as the height they fly at and their flight number.
Additionally, the system should enable residents to make enquiries or complaints about the level of noise produced by the airport.
Cheryl Monk, community relations manager at
Heathrow Airport, said: "It will improve our ability to monitor noise and track keeping performance and investigate and respond to complaints and enquiries."
The new website forms part of a £1.8 million investment to improve the airport's Noise and Track Keeping and complaints handling system, she added.
Over 67 million passengers use
Heathrow Airport each year, travelling to 186 destinations with approximately 90 different airlines.
The airport's new Terminal 5 is expected to be opened next year.
