Montreal Pride

Celebrated as one of the world's premier lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender pride events, Montreal's Divers/Cite festival attractions hundreds of thousands of visitors each year.

Held between August 1st and 5th, the event combines an eclectic range of music, film and dance, with all shows and performances free-of-charge to the public.

Blues, jazz, pop, disco, rock and techno concerts are performed across three different stages.

Aiming to "foster understanding of the richness of difference and diversity" the organisers attempt to create a spirit of "sharing, solidarity and openness".

Celebrating its 15th anniversary this year, the Divers/Cite festival promises secret special guests and a spectacular closing party.

While in Montreal, visitors can enjoy a whole host of evening attractions, including comedy clubs and wine bars.

Romantics can take in a cruise down the St Lawrence River while they dine, before taking a trip to the city's "glittering" casino.
