Virgin Atlantic has announced details of plans to capitalise on the revamping of Terminal 3 at
Heathrow Airport.
The airline has said that it expects to open a new check-in area in Zone A by the end of the year for its passengers, as well as creating a drive through check-in facility for Upper Class flyers by March 2008.
It revealed that it is predicting 80 per cent of its Heathrow passengers to be using online and kiosk check-in facilities by the end of the next year.
The new drive through check-in service will enable passengers to conduct all of the normal check-in tasks while they are still in the car.
"From check-in through to their departure gate, [passengers] will have a fast, efficient and stress-free journey, which will relax them for the start of their trip and save them precious time at the airport," commented Steve Ridgway, chief executive of
Virgin Atlantic.
Last week, the airline announced that it is to launch new flights between
Gatwick Airport and
Kingston,
Jamaica this October.
