National days are always a huge event in any country and every year
Singapore takes this very much to heart by throwing one big party.
Holidaymakers heading to
Singapore this summer will be able to see some spectacular celebrations as the country marks its national day with not just one day of festivities but a whole six weeks of events and shows.
While the big day falls on August 9th, there will be something going on every day between July 16th to August 26th as part of the commemorations, with just a few highlights including the National Day Parade, festivities at Marina Bay, outdoor music festivals and plenty of fireworks.
Witness the chaos as nearly 10,000 people attempt to form the biggest human Singapore flag in the world at the Padang, or sample a range of watersports at WaterFest Singapore 2007.
Certain events are off limits to overseas visitors, but for the most part you will be able to experience
Singapore at its liveliest during the National Day Festival.
