Eos Airlines has attributed its top ranking in recent airline punctuality figures to its "uncrowded" flight experience.
The business class airline achieved the best on-time performance out of all of the commercial carriers flying between London and
New York during the first three months of the year, according to Civil Aviation Authority figures.
More than three-quarters of these Eos flights were on time or were within 15 minutes of the schedule, beating the likes of
American Airlines,
British Airways and
Virgin Atlantic.
"When you take away the crowds, great things are possible - including the elimination of delays at check-in, boarding and deplaning," commented Jack Williams, chief executive of Eos.
The carrier recently announced the expansion of its London-New York service to 40 flights a week, a move that will take place from September 9th this year.
It will also add a new Boeing 757 aircraft to its fleet from this date.
