Air passengers can expect lengthier delays at UK airports following the recent attempted terror attacks, prime minister Gordon Brown has warned.
Speaking on BBC One's Breakfast programme, Mr Brown said that travellers will have to reconcile themselves to the fact that security must be stepped up in crowded places such as airports.
"It's going to be very difficult for people," he added, stating that he believed Britons would come to terms with the situation once they realised the need for extra security.
"People … want, first and foremost, that they are going to be secure when they are in a crowded place," Mr Brown explained.
Restrictions are still in place at
Glasgow Airport following Saturday's attack, but it has now reopened the outer forecourt to public transport and certain other vehicles, namely buses, licensed airport taxis, cars operated by Glasgow Taxis, NCP flight path shuttle buses and emergency vehicles.
The inner forecourt, however, is still closed to all vehicles.
