About 13.8 million travellers passed through BAA-operated airports last month, according to new figures.
Statistics from the organisation show that this represents a fall of 0.6 per cent compared to last year, with the attempted terrorist attack at
Glasgow Airport and resulting cancellations cited as one of the reasons for a decrease in air travel from Scotland.
However, European scheduled traffic saw a gain of 0.8 per cent, while other long-haul traffic increased by 4.3 per cent.
Meanwhile,
Aberdeen Airport saw the greatest rise in passengers in June, reporting a 7.5 per cent increase, with
Gatwick Airport found to be the best-performing London hub.
Last week, the outer forecourt at Glasgow Airport reopened to certain forms of public transport following tight security measures implemented after last month's attack.
While flights are operating as normal, the inner forecourt is still closed to all vehicles.
