A flight attendant strike at Venice Airport today has resulted in the cancellation of a number of
British Airways flights.
Flights BA2588 and BA2589 between
Gatwick Airport and
Venice have been cancelled, with the airline offering a shuttle bus service for passengers who travel to
Verona instead and want to transfer to Venice.
Passengers are advised that the shuttle journey lasts around two hours and flights departing from Verona have been delayed from their original time to accommodate this.
British Airways also said that today's final flights between Gatwick and Venice are set to go ahead as schedule, although they may be delayed.
Customers have been urged to check the status of their flight before departing for the airport. Those who do not wish to take up the alternative travel arrangements can rebook another flight up to two weeks after the original scheduled service or apply for a refund.
The strike may also affect a number of
Alitalia flights and the airline has said it will attempt to inform passengers on these services.
