Air Malta launches UK-Libya flights
Air Malta has launched a new twice-weekly service between certain airports in the UK and Benghazi in Libya.
Travellers looking to travel to the city can now take a flight from Heathrow and Manchester airports on Thursdays, which flies via Malta. The return journey can be made to Heathrow Airport on Tuesdays.
The new flights add to the airline's current schedule of services from Gatwick, Heathrow and Manchester airports to Tripoli, the Libyan capital, via Malta.
"At just one hour and 20 minutes flight time from Malta to Benghazi and one hour to Tripoli, Malta makes the ideal connection point and we look forward to generating both business and leisure traffic on this route," commented Leslie Muscat, UK and Ireland country manager for Air Malta.
Other airlines that fly between airports in the UK and Benghazi include British Airways, Alitalia, Lufthansa and Afriqiyah Airways.
