United Airlines has unveiled details of its new business class cabin for international flights.
Britons flying
business class to the
USA with the airline will soon be able to take advantage of fully lie-flat beds, audio and video on-demand entertainment on a 15.4-inch screen, and customisable radio facilities.
In addition, the cabin features an iPod adapter which allows passengers to play back their own music and videos on the inflight entertainment system, while also recharging their mp3 player.
The full overhaul is expected to be completed in 2009, but the new cabin will begin to be rolled out later this year.
"Our customers will truly appreciate the 180-degree, lie-flat seating and world-class amenities being implemented on all international flights," commented Graham Atkinson, executive vice president and chief customer officer for
United Airlines.
United Airlines operates a number of flights between the UK and destinations in the USA, such as
Washington,
New York and
Chicago.
