Passengers who use the online check-in facility for selected
Virgin Atlantic flights over the next two months will receive a discount on duty-free goods bought inflight.
Announcing the promotion this week, the airline said that travellers who depart from Heathrow, Gatwick and Manchester airports between August 1st and September 30th 2007 and use online check-in will be entitled to £6 off every £30 of goods bought onboard the flight.
Passengers wishing to take advantage of the promotion can do so by
checking in online during the special period and printing off the vouchers in their confirmation email.
These are then presented to a cabin crew member during the flight while making a duty-free purchase worth £30 or more.
Vouchers are also available for use at certain duty-free
stores in the departure areas of
Heathrow Terminal 3 and
Gatwick South Terminal.
"We hope that this promotion will encourage passengers to check in online before their trip as it means that on arrival at the airport, they simply hand over their luggage at the Bag Drop desk and go straight through security, making the whole process much quicker and stress-free for them," commented Paul Dickinson of
Virgin Atlantic.
Items on sale through the carrier's Retail Therapy scheme include perfumes, make-up, alcohol, watches, accessories, gadgets and more.
