Travellers using UK airports this summer have been advised to ensure they "arrive prepared" for the various security checks they will have to undergo.
The Department for Transport has issued a reminder to holidaymakers explaining that they must heed the rules regarding the carriage of liquids and that they can only take one item of cabin baggage onboard the flight.
Aviation minister Jim Fitzpatrick said that adhering to all of the relevant rules and regulations will help passengers make a "smooth getaway" this summer.
"These restrictions are necessary to ensure that flights are safe and secure and the restrictions on liquids are in place at every airport across Europe, as well as in countries such as the US and Australia," he commented.
Officials at
Heathrow Airport recently said that they are expecting more than 850,000 air passengers to pass through the hub between July 27th and 30th alone, with Sunday expected to be the busiest day and
New York predicted to be the most popular destination.
