More Britons have visited
Hong Kong so far this year than they did during the first half of 2006, according to new figures.
Statistics from the Hong Kong Tourism Board suggest that the number of British holidaymakers travelling to the region rose by nearly a fifth during the first six months of 2007 compared with the same period last year.
Some 293,021 UK travellers headed to
Hong Kong in the first half of 2007, representing the largest proportion of European visitors to the area.
In total, Hong Kong visitor arrivals from around the world jumped by 6.8 per cent during the period, with 13 million people travelling to the region.
Hong Kong offers a wide variety of attractions and events that appeal to holidaymakers from all walks of life. It is a particularly interesting destination for some due to its east-meets-west culture that combines traditional Chinese elements with modern-day lifestyles.
